Volunteers - Interns
We work with volunteer-interns who seek to gain experience in the
publishing and media world. This might involve anything in the
publishing process from writing, editing, graphic design, creation of
music or video book trailers, and marketing.
Most volunteers come to the Swiss L'Abri as students where they engage in a Christian community consisting of a program of study, work, attending lectures, and participation in discussions at meals. A student's work at L'Abri typically involves preparation of meals and tending the gardens. An individualized study program is designed for each student depending on the questions they have and their interests.
A volunteer-intern may take on editing, media creation and marketing tasks depending on what books are being produced. This is typically done part time while being balanced with their student activities in order to profit from the full L'Abri experience.
Destinee would also be open to collaborate with anyone who is working on a special project like writing a book, composing music, perfecting their art, working on graphic design, working on a film project, or anything else involving media. This might be woven into their program as a student at L'Abri.
The Swiss L'Abri is located in a small village in the Swiss Alps where the students live in chalets like the one in the picture below.
